June 23, 2003—BIVIO NETWORKS™ PARTNERS WITH INDUSTRY LEADER ZEUS TECHNOLOGY
The Bivio 1000™ Will Integrate Zeus Load Balancer with Security and IP Service Applications
PLEASANTON, CALIF. – June 23, 2003 – Bivio Networks™, a leading supplier of secure IP-service platforms, has announced a partnership with industry leader Zeus Technology to incorporate server load balancing software into Bivio solutions. Bivio Networks will integrate Zeus Load Balancer with solutions from Check Point Software Technologies® and NextHop technology for the Bivio 1000 and Bivio 1000S platforms to address high performance requirements of online retail and e-commerce applications.
" Bivio’s unique architecture lends itself well to acceleration of applications that are packet and session intensive, like server load balancing. Our multi-CPU architecture and hardware acceleration is ideal for high performance layer 7 packet processing," said Elan Amir, chief technical officer for Bivio Networks. "Our platforms challenge the notion that ISV software is too slow for high performance. We deliver ASIC-like performance to security and IP service software."
"We are excited to partner with Bivio Networks and deliver industry leading performance. As our Zeus Load Balancer software increases in functionality and adds security functionality, we are excited to have a partner that will deliver leading performance immediately," said John Paterson, CEO of Zeus Technology. "Bivio Networks is solving the performance problems for security and IP services that have been ignored by other appliance vendors. Their platform is unique and will open up new market opportunities for Zeus products."
Zeus Load Balancer performance on the Bivio 1000 platforms beats existing server load balancer solutions with performance in excess of excess of 40K transactions per second. This rivals ASIC-based solutions from existing server load balancer solutions. Bivio’s unique architecture enables scalable performance above this level as required by large data center network operators. Bivio’s Virtual Rack™ technology enables addition of multiple application processors to efficiently boost performance in economical increments.
The Bivio 1000 system delivers uncompromising performance and unmatched flexibility for security applications. The system is packaged in a small form factor that incorporates redundancy and scalability required for deployment in enterprise and carrier networks. In addition, the system delivers future value by enabling new security or IP services to be added via remote software upgrades.
