President & CEO
Dr. Elan Amir brings to Bivio broad technology and leadership experience in the networking industry. Dr. Amir joined Bivio Networks in 2003 as CTO. Prior to joining Bivio Networks, Dr. Amir served as CTO for OmniSky Corporation, one of the pioneers in the wireless data applications, software and services sectors. At OmniSky, Dr. Amir oversaw all aspects of the company’s technology development, its direction and strategy, intellectual property development, and M&A due diligence.
Prior to OmniSky, Dr. Amir was CTO and VP of Engineering at ProxiNet, one of the first developers of web browsing solutions for mobile devices. ProxiNet was aquired by Puma Technology (now Intellisync corporation) in 1999. Before ProxiNet, Dr. Amir co-founded FastForward Networks, a developer of broadcast media distribution software. FastForward Networks was acquired by Inktomi Corporation in August 2000.
Dr. Amir received his Doctoral and Masters degree in Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley, and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Berkeley.
Chief Financial Officer
Keith Glover has over twenty-five years of business and financial experience in the telecommunications, networking, and wireless industries. Glover is responsible for all aspects of finance, operations, and administration management for the company.
Prior to joining Bivio, Glover served as the executive vice president of finance, chief financial officer, and corporate secretary for Proxim Corporation, a leading developer of wireless products and technologies. He led the process to complete Proxim’s IPO, secondary public offering, several private placement financings, and merger and acquisition activities. Glover has also served as vice president of finance for Vitalink Communications Corporation and previously held finance positions at ROLM Corporation and KPMG.
Glover holds a BS in business administration and accounting from California State Polytechnic University Pomona.
Vice President, Marketing
Tim Waters joins Bivio Networks with more than 18 years experience in marketing data and telecommunications products and services. At Bivio, Tim is responsible for overall marketing and product management of Bivio networking appliances.
Prior to joining Bivio, Tim was Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at NetDevices, Inc., a leading supplier in the emerging Enterprise Service Gateway marketplace. Tim has held similar positions at SkyStream Networks, a manufacturer of IP Video Headends, and Onetta, Inc., where he lead the creation of the Intelligent Optical Engine market. Previous to Onetta, Tim was Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for Promatory Communications, a leading supplier of next generation DSL access multiplexers, subsequently acquired by Nortel Networks. Earlier in his career Tim served as Vice President of Data Product Management for Ameritech in Chicago, IL and held several management positions at Paradyne Corporation and AT&T Computer Systems.
Tim holds a Masters degree in Business Administration from Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from College of the Holy Cross.
Vice President, Business Development
Harbrinder Kang joins Bivio Networks with more than 20 years of technology experience in networking, telecommunications and security at a wide spectrum of companies that include Cisco, Network Appliance and a number of Silicon Valley startups.
Before joining Bivio, Kang worked for Network Appliance as Director of Technical Marketing, where he built and provided leadership for a large team focused on cross-functional corporate strategies for Linux and HPC / GRID environments. Prior to Network Appliance he was Vice President of Business Development at Ubicom, a leading supplier of Internet processors and networking software. At Ubicom, he was responsible for Ubicom's strategy to deliver comprehensive end-to-end solutions with industry leaders and partners that included Atheros, Intersil, Agere and software vendors like V-Soft and SX-Design. Before Ubicom, Harbrinder was a principal at Artiman Ventures and focused on security and optical technologies.
Prior to Artiman Ventures, Kang served at Cisco for several years working in close collaboration with business unit leaders to define Cisco’s security strategy, working on acquisitions and investments in the VPN and security spaces.
Harbrinder has a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Birmingham, England.
Director Hardware Engineering
Alex brings to Bivio over 16 years of experience developing systems for networking applications with large and emerging networking and systems companies.
Prior to Bivio, Alex managed engineering efforts at Livingston Enterprises, now a division of Lucent that provides remote access servers, routers and solutions for ISPs and enterprise networks worldwide.
Previously, Alex held various lead engineering positions with Cayman Systems, Texas Instruments, Lightstream (acquired by Cisco), UB Networks (acquired by Alcatel), and Cabletron Systems.
He has extensive experience in technology innovation and engineering management for companies that have subsequently been part of larger mergers and acquisition.
Alex holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from University of Rhode Island and MBA from Southern New Hampshire University.
Director of Software Engineering
Raj joins Bivio Networks, Inc. with over 15 years of experience as a lead for software architecture with some of the world’s most prominent networking and systems companies, including Nokia, Lucent, and Sun Microsystems.
Prior to Bivio, Raj was Senior Manager at Nokia, where he was responsible for Linux and IP Routing projects. He led the initiative to establish Linux as the primary platform within Nokia, along with others.
Previously, Raj held software management positions at Lucent, and was involved in the deployment of Access Router equipment at major carriers in multiple countries.
Raj also spent several years at Sun Microsystems, where he was instrumental for several networking projects, involving proprietary and standards based networks and network management systems.
He has a broad background in advanced software architecture, program management and leadership.
Raj holds an MS in Computer Science from Syracuse University, and an ME in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science
